Really fascinating TED talk from Bonnie Bassler in 2009. Bassler discusses how bacteria talk to each other in a chemical language:
“[Bacteria] have an incredibly complicated chemical lexicon that … allows bacteria to be multicellular. In the spirit of TED they’re doing things together because it makes a difference.”
Wish I was a molecular biologist so I could honestly evaluate her argument. But, what a brilliant, lovely, & tremendously inspiring woman!
